AMERICAN REVOLUTION






The American Revolution
For some historians the independence of the thirteen colonies
British American been inserted in a process very
broader, known as the American Revolution. We will try to identify the revolutionary character of independence, unanimous contained in the Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America, 1776.

In the very first paragraph of the Declaration, we can identify
recognition by the settlers of their role
historical, social subjects as:
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one
people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws entitle the nature and of nature's God, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The text reveals a conscious subject of the historical moment in which they live
and you have to fight  against concrete events not forces
divine or supernatural or against the vagaries of fate.
The next paragraph reveals the idea of ​​"equality" in a world where
There was slavery and the nobles lived in luxury surrounded:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all
men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain
unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit
happiness.


In the Old Regime the relationship between rulers and ruled was mediated
by force: the power of the king - founded on the strength of armies, the Church
and the family name. The new social system began requiring a new
contract between rulers and ruled, in which power emanates from the people:
That to secure these rights, governments are
instituted among men, deriving their just
powers from the consent of the governed, that
whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive
of these ends, it is up to the people the right to change it
or abolish it and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on
such principles and organizing its powers in the way
that seems more convenient to carry him
safety and happiness [...]
